ZEVĀ

Sevā · light · radiance

From sevā to zevā

zevā is rooted in the Sanskrit word Sevā. Sevā means selfless service that goes beyond the individual. It can be a guiding principle in our life, some connect it with a higher power, or simply to be in service to something or someone outside of themselves.

But the word zevā means something different. In Hebrew it means light, radiance, and in Greek it means sword.

The vision

Together, the words zevā and sevā — with their own qualities, like purusha and prakriti or like yin and yang — form our vision:

To contribute to a world where women tending to their radiance is the selfless service, because they know that from a state of overflowing energy, they lead with power in whatever role they are called to. To live in a world where all women remember that their essence is connected to, and comes from, Mother Earth.

Women standing firm in their own power and beauty.

The mission

The mission of zevā is to help women restore their radiance and vitality through Ayurveda. To equip women with the knowledge of how to bring themselves back into balance in each season of their lives. Through the relationship they cultivate with the herbs they use, through a daily rhythm that supports them, and through the sacred connection with themselves. To then pass this knowledge on to their children or to the people around them.

The person behind zevā

Hello dear,

My name is Zsofia — the Hungarian version of Sofia. The Z in my name also inspired the “Z” of zevā, connecting it to my roots.

I went through a slow yet massive change in my life as soon as Ayurveda entered it in 2018.

In my personal journey, I was curious and committed to yogic and meditative practices from my early twenties, meanwhile I was very much aware of the impact food had on my mood and energy in general. The moment I heard of Ayurveda for the first time, I knew that my path is to study it and to share this knowledge with my surroundings.

It taught me how to transform the kitchen into a living prayer that nourishes me and the people in my life. It confronted me about many things, including my closest relationships, and very slowly the tiny changes I made gained momentum over time.

Today I feel honored and devoted to guiding women to transform something in their life with the help of this ancient, yet more than ever relevant science.

Besides my obsession with Ayurveda, I find a lot of creative expression in dancing and singing. I discovered a deeper connection through them with myself, with others and with God.
